Memory of Peru - Where Traces Linger

06 – 18 October 2026

Where Traces Linger

Where Traces Linger, curated by Yoppy Pieter, brings together works by Gabriel Barreto Bentín, Martín Chambi, César Meza, Walter O. Runcie, Charles Kroehle, and Sultan Putra, exploring memory through archives, portraits, and material remains.

Through photographs and objects, the works trace different ways in which places, communities, and histories are remembered. From photographic records of Peru’s landscapes, Indigenous communities, and social transformations to portraits of Andean life and the remnants of loss and destruction, the program invites visitors to reflect on how traces of the past continue to shape our understanding of the present.

Together, this exhibition considers memory not simply as a record of what has been, but as something that remains, touches, and embraces the present.
